Larry working at desk, reviewing files. - Owner, The Miles Law Firm. Advised small businesses for almost 30 years. Serves as a mediator and arbitrator, including previously as a Judge Pro Tem for various Courts. Served as Vice-President and General Counsel for the Cal Worthington Auto Group for almost eight years, helping run one of the largest auto groups in the United States.

- Began professional career in 1976 as an Assistant to the President of the University of California.

- Has lived in the district for over 20 years and has been a strong civic leader.

- Volunteered for over six years for the local high school Boosters Club, including two years on the Board of Directors. Actively involved in youth activities for over a decade, serving as a soccer, softball, and baseball coach for local youth programs.

- Member of the Board of Directors, Sierra Service Project (helping young people serve on Indian service projects), from 2004-2007.

- Served as a member of the Mather AFB Advisory Commission in 2005. Pilot for 36 years, Commercial Pilot rated, IFR, multi-engine, land and seaplane. Larry flies a Bonanza A36.

- Flew medical personnel to Mexico for eleven years for the Flying Samaritans.

Larry with Dr. David Saxon. - B.A., UCLA, graduated with honors, Student Body President, Chairman of the UC Student Body Presidents Council, and named Outstanding Senior, 1975; M.A., Occidental College, 1976; CORO Fellow in Public Affairs, 1976; J.D., U.C. Davis School of Law, 1980.

- Married to wife Marsha for 30 years. Marsha is General Counsel for the Department of Education, and a former Deputy Attorney General and General Counsel to the Dept. of Finance. Two children, Jonathan and Katherine, who attended district public schools. Jon is a 2009 graduate of the UCLA School of Law, and Katherine attends the UCLA Graduate School of Education.
